After Simon Coveney gave a fairly strong concession speech that involved unity for the Fine Gael party, the new leader of Fine Gael Leo Varadkar and so to be Taoiseach, Varadkar paid major respect to outgoing Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
Varadkar thanked Simon Coveney for a tightly contested leadership battle while quickly moving on to thank Enda Kenny.
Varadkar said that “Enda Kenny has left Ireland in a much better place than when he took over”.
He went profusely thanked Kenny numerous times for his so-called service to the country.
