4-yr-old Gavin Glynn passed away at the start of the week in his home in Greystones, Co. Wicklow, surrounded by his family.

The little boy fought an extremely brave and heroic battle with cancer for past 2 years. His brave fight was made public when his parents, Jayne and John Glynn, raised a massive €350,000 to receive special treatment in America in an attempt to beat the disease.

An initial positive result soon relapsed into a worse and aggressive form of cancer. The brave little boy who loved Superman and all super heroes, lost his life this week after putting up what is said to be a “fight fought with dignity and bravery”.

This morning, a packed Saint Patrick’s Church in Greystones, Co. Wicklow was filled with mourners who heard the Garda band play as the little boy was carried into the church.

Rector of Greystones Rev David Mungavin thanked all who came and did his utmost to put a positive spin on the tragic day by saying “we are here to celebrate Gavin’s life, he spread inspiration not only in Ireland but abroad”.
