London City Airport reopens after WW2 era bomb is removed from a nearby location

Flight operations at London City Airport have resumed today, after a 500-kg WW2 explosive device was found during building work nearby yesterday.

Bomb disposal experts were able to remove the ordnance, which will be destroyed via a controlled-explosion.

Dozens of flights had to be cancelled or re-routed yesterday after the bomb was found.
