A man who was stabbed thirteen times by his girlfriend, has shocked a court in Russia by proposing to his alleged attacker.
The bizare incident which has become global news, apparently occurred in Nizhnekamsk, when the man named only as Shakur proposed to his girlfriend at her sentencing hearing.
According to NTR-24 TV, Shakur proposed to his girlfriend and pleaded with the judge not to sentence the woman for the attack which required him to have a three week hospital stay.
It is reported that Shakur also pleaded for leniency and asked for time to arrange a date and prepare for their wedding.
Although the judge postponed his sentencing decision, it is understood that the woman is facing up to six years in prison after pleading guilty to all charges brought against her.
However she has denied trying to kill her boyfriend, but admitted that she was drunk at the time of the attack.
It is believed that the man sustained stab wounds all over his body after the woman attacked him during a dispute.
