49-year-old Stephen Clinch was arrested and questioned at Store Street Garda Station in Dublin last night, after an incident at the Living Room sports pub.
Two raiders entered the premises at around 9:30pm, but staff at the pub confronted and overpowered them.
Gardai were called and arrested the two men. €50,000 and a handgun were recovered from the scene.
Clinch starred as Noely in the hit series Love/Hate. His character was involved in a savage jail assault scene in which a pool cue was used to attack Fran in the final episode.
