Luas drivers will recieve 10% pay cut unless they stop strike action

Luas operators could soon be set for 10% pay cut instead of a pay rise unless they get back to work.

The cut will come into effect after the company that runs the service Transdev stated that they will cut drivers’ pay by 10% from this Friday if their work-to-rule continues.

The company claim the enforced cuts are being introduced because the current strike action is leaving the company with significant costs.

Transdev have said they already have written to SIPTU urging it to call off Thursday’s strike. The company says it’s still open to talks “once a credible basis for negotiations exists”
