It has been confirmed in the past hour that Luas workers will go ahead with their planned strikes this weekend.
The news has come at a bad time as thousands of tourists will be forced to use alternative transport during the Easter Rising centenary celebrations. It is understood that drivers have overwhelmingly rejected a pay deal of up to 18.7% over 33 months.
The result now means that there will be no Luas trams running on Easter Sunday or Monday when major events are planned in the capital.
