After a period of simmering calm, the people of this country will once again make their voices heard against the impending water charges.

A major protest is scheduled in Dublin tomorrow, Saturday. Protestors will march from Connolly and Heuston station up both sides of the quays. Severe traffic disruption and gridlock are expected.

Anti Austerity Alliance TD Paul Murphy has stated that tomorrow’s event is not a national protest. He said “this is not a national protest in Dublin – taking place on Saturday, instead there is local and regional protests all across the country.”

Cork and Galway will also play host to similar protests tomorrow, at 2pm at the city library, and at 1pm in Eyre Square, respectively.

It is worth noting that none of these protests have been centrally organized by Right2Water. Their next ‘official’ day of action will happen in March, ahead of the first bills arriving in April.
