There was a major evacuation of Fine Gael TD’s at a conference hall where Taoiseach Enda Kenny will give his opening Ard Fheis speech this evening after an empty shotgun shell was found next to the stage earlier this afternoon.
It is believed that the Gardaí were called to the City West venue after security staff found the empty shotgun shell behind the main stage shortly at approximately 2pm. Gardaí say there was no gun powder in the shell, thought to be from a shotgun.
It is understood that the Taoiseach Enda Kenny was not present in the conference hall at the time of the incident.
