There widespread travel chaos at Heathrow and Gatwick Airport this afternoon after a number of British Airways flights have been cancelled.
The two biggest airports in London has seen thousands of passengers stranded in its terminals after a major a major IT systems failure at British Airways.
In a brief statement a company spokesperson said: “Unfortunately a major IT system failure is causing very severe disruption to our flight operations worldwide”.
“We at British Airways apologise for the global system outage and we are working to resolve the problem”.
Meanwhile Heathrow Airport have said it was “working closely” with BA to solve the issue.
