Man aged in his 40s is remanded in custody after being charged with Dundalk murder

A man aged in his 40s has appeared in court charged with the murder of a Lithuanian woman in Dundalk earlier this week.

According to RTÉ News, Edmund Dauksa of Castleross, Castletown Road, Dundalk, has been remanded in custody following an appearance in court this morning.

Mr Dauksa, 48, has also been ordered to appear before Clover Hill District Court next week.

The accused appeared before the court after he was charged with the murder of Ingrida Maciokaite, 31, who died in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda on Tuesday.

It is understood Ms Maciokaite sustained a number of stab wounds following an attack outside the Bridgewater Mews apartments in Dundalk on Tuesday afternoon.
