Gardaí in Bray Co Wicklow have confirmed that a man aged in his 50s has died following a shooting incident at a boxing club this morning.
According to RTÉ News, the man’s death comes as two other men both aged 35 and 57 were injured in the incident which occurred at approximately 7am.
Although both men, on of whom is Pete Taylor (father of Irish boxer Katie) received injuries, Gardai have said they are not life threatening.
Gardaí say the gunman who was wearing a high-visibility jacket and had his face covered fired a number of shots, before fleeing the scene.
It is understood the suspect fled the scene in what has been described as a silver-coloured Volkswagen Caddy van with Northern Ireland registration plates.
