A man aged in his 60s has sadly died following a road traffic incident in Co Cork this afternoon.
It is understood the man died after he was involved in a three car collision on the N22 Carrigaphooca, near Macroom.
Gardaí say the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene following the crash which occurred at approximately 1:30pm.
Meanwhile the driver of the second of the vehicle, a man aged in his 20s, was seriously injured in the incident and was immediately airlifted to Cork University Hospital.
They also say the driver of the third vehicle was uninjured in the collision.
