A man is currently recovering in hospital this morning after he sustained crush injuries following a farming accident in Co Clare last night.
Reports say the man was seriously injured after a hay bale fell on top him whist he was carrying out his farming duties.
It is believed the tragic incident happened at approximately 7pm at a farm in Fanore in the north of the county.
Gardaí say the man was then airlifted to University Hospital Limerick by the Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard who were called in for assistance by the national ambulance service.
They also say the man is currently recovering in hospital were his condition is described as serious.
