Man appears in court charged with tampering with ESB and gas meters

A man has appeared in court charged with tampering with ESB and gas meters in Dublin over the past two years.

41 year old James McLoughlin, from Summer Street South in Dublin, has been charged with number of offences which include possession of stolen gas meters, and causing criminal damage to gas and ESB meters. 

Mr McLoughlin was released on bail to appear again next month.
He allegedly faces two charges of criminal damage, but today he was charged with four counts of possession of stolen gas meters belonging to Bord Gáis Networks.
He has also been charged with four counts of unlawful interference with gas meters, unlawful interference with an ESB meter, and criminal damage to a gas and ESB meter.

The alleged offences are understood to have taken place  between July last year and February of this year.
