A man died in a workplace accident in Limerick last night.
The man, who is believed to have been in his 60s, was found dead yesterday evening in a garage on the Newport Road near Annagh which services and repairs trucks, tractors and commercial vehicles.
An alarm was raised in the garage around 9.30pm last night when the man, who worked as a mechanic, became trapped when a truck cab fell on him.
Paramedics attended the victim, however he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem is due to be carried out on the man today in University Hospital Limerick.
Gardaí in Newport and Nenagh are investigating the incident and the Health Safety Authority are also launching a separate investigation.
