Gardaí in Dublin have sadly confirmed that a man who was struck by priest’s car before a funeral mass in Clondalkin last month, has sadly died in hospital.

In announcement made on Tuesday, Gardai confirmed that the 78 year-old male who was amongst the group of pedestrians struck by the vehicle had sadly passed away in hospital.

It is understood the man was left in critical condition after he was struck by the priest’s car outside the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Clondalkin on June 25.

The tragic incident occurred when Fr Foley became ill behind the wheel of the car which prompted him to accidentally lose control of the vehicle before it struck the group of Mourners.
