Police in Manchester have launched a major manhunt after a man allegedly tried to rape a 10 year old girl.
According to Sky News the young girl was approached by the man on Kincraig Close, in the Openshaw area of the city.
It is alleged the man who is believed to be of Asian ethnicity and aged in his 20s, approached the girl whilst she was out with friends on Saturday afternoon at approximately 2pm.
Police say the girl told them that the man tried to rape her on a stretch of open land nearby. However thankfully she managed to flee the scene and alert a nearby passer-by.
Police say they are currently in the process of interviewing the girl and an investigation is currently.
They added the girl has since been provided with counselling assistance.
