The body of a man was discovered just after 9am this morning in Hills Lane, Crooksling, Tallaght.
It is believed the victim had sustained several gunshot wounds.
The scene is currently sealed off to enable a forensic examination.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and contact Tallaght garda station on 01 666 6000.
