The US states of North Carolina and South Carolina have begun to prepare for the worst as mass evacuations are taking place ahead of the impending Hurricane Florence.
In what could potentially one of the worst storms to hit the East Coast, millions of people have been told to leave their homes as winds reaching 140mph could reach the shore by Thursday.
The call for the emergency evacuations were made as latest weather modules form The National Hurricane Centre show that the potentially dangerous category 4 hurricane is barrelling its way towards the US.
Experts say they expect the hurricane to hit the East Coast by Thursday as latest charts show it is currently travelling between Bermuda and the Bahamas and steadily gaining pace.
It is expected that over a million people will be forced to flee their homes whilst those living further inland have also been informed that they should prepare for the worst as major power outages and flooding are possible.
The US Government say they are preparing for the worst and assistance to those affected by the the powerful hurricane will be available 24/7.
