Measles outbreak in Limerick prompts the health service to issue warning

The health service has identified 12 cases of measles in the Limerick area, with a few more likely prognosis being investigated.

The outbreak, which started at the beginning of January, is so far contained to the Southill and Carew Park areas of the city. The HSE has now issued a warning to ensure all children in the outbreak zone have a full vaccination schedule.

A free MMR clinic will be available at Barrack View Primary Care Centre, Edward Street, Limerick, from 12 noon – 3pm on February 21.
