The latest bill which is focused on the legalisation of Medicinal cannabis has been overwhelmingly passed in the Dáil last year.
It is now expected the use of cannabis for medical purpose will be legalised by next Easter after the legislation passed the second stage without any opposition by the government.
However Health minister Simon Harris did express some concerns about legislation, although it is believed he agreed to make a number of amendments before it reaches committee stage in the new year.
