Met Eireann issue status yellow rainfall warning as heavy rains are forecast

For this weekend at least, it appears that we’re back to more familiar Irish summer territory, as heavy rain and strong winds begin to lash Ireland once again.

Two Status Yellow warnings for heavy rainfall are now in place, ahead of 24 hours of heavy showers.

The warnings cover Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Waterford, Connacht, Cork, Limerick, and Tipperary.

Temps will hover in the late teens but the outlook looks decent from midweek onward. Persistent showers will luckily be mostly at night, but the odd localised shower will remain until Monday.
