Met Eireann issue weather warning for heavy rain, sleet and snow over the next 24 hours

Met Eireann has issued another weather warning for the country today as heavy rain, sleet and snow for higher ground is forecast

There is no respite in the current spell of wintry weather, as Met Eireann forecasts snow, rain, and sleet over the next 24 hours.

The warning is said to be in place until tomorrow morning at 11am when forecasters will re-assess the situation at that stage.

Motorists especially have been advised to be extra vigilant for black ice on the roads.

Driving conditions are expected to be extremely treacherous during Wednesday and into Thursday, so the national forecaster is asking for extreme caution while driving, or for pedestrians walking on slippery footpaths.
