The national forecaster has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for snow and ice, as weather conditions are set to worsen significantly over the next few hours.
Snow is expected to fall across Ulster and Connacht throughout the night and early on Tuesday morning.
Temperatures are likely to remain low over the next 48h, ranging between 3C and 8C.
