The national forecaster has issued a weather warning ahead of a warm weekend, as high temperatures are likely to exacerbate the current drought conditions.
According to Met Eireann, the weekend weather will feel close and humid, with highs of 27C likely in places.
There will be a small amount of rainfall across northern areas, but nothing significant.
Looking at next week, the forecast is currently uncertain, as the tail end of Storm Chris may cause some unsettled weather across Ireland.
