In a perfect example of the old adage ‘if one has nothing intelligent to say, it’s best to say nothing’, the indomitable Leo Varadkar has today stepped up and gallantly spoken to defend the current Government’s record on hospital overcrowding.
These comments come on a day where fed up A&E nurses are baying for blood outside Leinster House, and in an week where hospitals nationwide are balloting for industrial action because they have had enough.
Mr. Varadkar at least had the courage to admit that the issue is ‘serious’, and boldly said that, all things considered, the current Government’s record on overcrowding is ‘better’ than the last.
