More carnage on Irish roads after cyclist dies in collision in Co. Cork

This has been a weekend of carnage on our roads, as several people have been injured and at least two have died in separate incidents.

A cyclist -the seventh this year- has sadly died after being struck by a car earlier today.

The tragic incident took place in the Ballincollig bypass in Cork.

The cyclist, a male in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle that hit him was not injured.

Elsewhere in Co. Cavan, six young people were injured when the car they were in collided with a fence.
