Moscow crash: Seventy one people dead after aircraft crashes shortly after taking off from Moscow airport




Seventy one people are confirmed dead after a passenger plane crashed shortly after taking off from Domodedovo airport in the outskirts of Moscow.

The aircraft, an Antonov An-148 operated by Saratov Airlines, reportedly disappeared shortly after departing. The plane was only seven years old and had been delivered to the airline less than 12 months ago.

The flight was en route to Orsk, a city sited close to the Russia-Kazakhstan border.

The cause of the crash remains unknown.
