Mostly fine and settled weather over the weekend and the coming week

If you have not used your BBQ in some time, this weekend may be your chance, as the weather is shaping up to be warm and dry for the most part.

Temperatures are expected to hit low to mid 20s around the midlands, but there will also be cloudy periods and isolated showers. There’s a risk of thunderstorms developing inland, too.

Today, Friday, will start off rather dull, but temperatures will steadily climb up to 17C as the day progresses, with good sunny spells throughout the day. Some patchy rain may develop towards the afternoon and evening, especially in southern and western counties.

Saturday and Sunday will bring a lot of sunshine, but cloud cover may develop at times. Temperature wise, the thermometer may hit low to mid 20s during the afternoon and early evening, cooler around coastal areas.

The outlook for next week and beyond is for mostly sunny, settled weather, with long bright spells around and temperatures hitting 20C most days, with Wednesday and Thursday expected to be the warmest.
