Motorist is banned for six months after he deliberately parked in a disabled spot

A Co Clare motorist has recieved a six month driving ban after he deliberately parked in a disabled parking space in Ennis earlier this year.

According to The Irish Sun newspaper, the motorist recieved the hefty ban after he was found to have parked his car in a disabled parking space in the town’s Parnell Street car park.

The motorist who committed the offence on May 5th this year was also given a €750 fine for the offence.

The heavy punishment comes as the Department of Transport have stepped it’s efforts to clamp down on the problem which has become common in recent years.

Although the Department of Transport have introduce fines of €150 for the offence, it is believed the man was given a harsher punishment due to his uncooperative behaviour during the case.
