Motorists advised to be extra vigilant tonight as temperatures drop with snow and ice forecast





Met Eireann has advised motorists to be extra vigilant for the next 48 hours as temperatures are set to drop with snow and ice forecast.

A national weather warning  has been issued for Leinster and counties Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary and Waterford, and will remain in place until 6am on Tuesday morning.

Snow is expected to fall from Monday evening with more than 2 inches forecast.

The AA and Met Eireann have advised people to share this information with their friends.
