The perpetrator of yesterday’s massacre has been identified only as David S., an 18-year-old with dual German-Iranian nationality who had reportedly been living in Munich for a number of months. It is believed that he shot himself after the attack, which left ten people dead and several more injured.
While it was initially believed that a team of shooters had carried out a coordinated attack, it was later revealed that David S. had acted alone.
The motive for the rampage remains unclear, and there are no immediate links to any extremist organization. German authorities are searching the man’s apartment, computer equipment , and mobile phone for clues.
