Almost half a million adults are still living in the family home with their parents, CSO data shows.
The figure of 460,000 adults are living at home with the breakdown of around 200,000 women and 260,000 men living at home.
The Census 2016 is the latest data we have and shows that there are some 1,218,370 families currently living here.
According to the Mirror, that’s an increase of almost 40,000 families compared to five years previously, in Census 2011.
It’s believed that the figure may have grown significantly since that in the last 2 years but the 2016 is the most recent data available.
