According to latest statistics published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) the number of people currently signing on the Live Register is at its lowest level since November 2008.
The new report published by the CSO, shows there were 288,000 in total in receipt of social welfare payments in October.
The latest figures shows a fall of just over 3,000 in the month from September, whilst it also marks a drop of over 43,000 for the year.
