The Garda Commissioner Drew Harris has defended his officers over their presence at home evictions.
According to Shannonside.ie, Harris defended his officers after the gardai were heavily criticised for their handling of an eviction at a farm in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon.
The gardai can be seen in viral video footage just standing idly by as elderly people are beaten, bashed and grabbed by their ears and flung to the ground from their property.
The gardai even stood by as one of their own, a retired garda, took a ferocious beating from the KBC bank hired thugs.
The Garda Commissioner said that his officers would not stand by and watch as a crime occurred and they would always step in if violence were to occur – one has to wonder what they consider violence to actually be as we’ve all seen the viral videos (included below).
