It has been revealed that a new group has been set up to try and secure the future of the post office network access Ireland.
The new group named the Post Office Network Business Development Group aims to create new opportunities for the Government and commercial business that could be transacted through the post office network.
The groups chairman Bobby Kerr made a statement in relation to the move saying: “We’re going to be looking at the model that is the future post office: what it’s going to look like, what it’s going to sell, how it’s going to work commercially,” said the group’s chair, Bobby Kerr. “All the stakeholders will be involved: the postmasters, the unions, the department of communications.”
He went onto say: “I’m really honoured to be asked to do this, because I think there’s a big task here.”
