The current homeless crisis is showing no signs of slowing down with the situation becoming increasingly worse as each day passes by, but if the 10,000 reported to be living in emergency accommodation wasn’t bad enough it seems the problem has reached new lows as a family with six children were forced to sleep in a public hospital as they had nowhere else to go.

The shocking revelation comes after it has been revealed that a Romainian family which had six young children had no option but to stay at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

According to Midlands 103, the shocking incident which has prompted Sinn Fein’s Eoin O Broin to speak out, apparently occurred on September 5th.

Midlands 103 say the family were taken to the hospital after they attended a Garda station in Athlone.

It is believed they were then taken to the hospital after Gardai made contact with Tulsa who advised them to bring the family to the Galway hospital as there was no other accommodation available.

The incident has now prompted Mr O Broin to speak calling it a new low and a disgrace.
