A new opinion poll conducted recently indicates a sharp rise in support for Fianna Fail, while Fine Gael goes the opposite way.
The poll reveals a 27% popular support for Fianna Fail, while Fine Gael trails three points behind.
Sinn Féin is up two points to 17%, while the Independent Alliance currently stands at 8%.
Labour and the Social Democrats pick up the rear with 4% and 2% respectively.
The poll also shows that Micheál Martin is the most popular party leader, with a satisfaction rating of 42%. Enda Kenny lags behind in the popularity sweepstakes, at just 27%.
