According to a new report published by the Oireachtas committee the price of Car insurance has risen by 300% over the past year.
The report which heavily criticises Insurance companies also found that on average that a standard motorists premium has gone up by 37%.
The detailed report also states that insurance companies “closed mentality” and unwillingness to share data is a major contributor in recent motor insurance hikes.
Meanwhile the report found that a staggering 70% of all claims are settled privately by insurers.
