New report shows that over 100,000 people currently in part time positions rely heavily on jobseekers to make ends meet




According to a new report published by the Independent group Social Justice Ireland, there are currently more than 100,000 people in part-time work relying on social welfare payments along with their part time wage to make ends meet.

The latest revelations which suggest a number of people, particularly young people are currently trapped in a scenario which leaves them no option but to apply for social welfare along with their part time pay.

The group say a high number of people are being forced to undertake such a route because there is currently no full time positions available that is considered favourable.

The group also accounted for the recent surge in people who wish to remain in third level education as a main driving force in the rise of figures.

Although the figures are ever increasing Social Justice Ireland say many individuals would happily take a full time position if it were made available.
