A newly revised sexual education Bill has passed the second stage within the Dáil despite the Fianna Fáil party abstaining from voting.

The new Bill which was put forward by Solidarity-People Before Profit, will now go before Oireachtas Education Committee before it is passed into law.

Under the new reforms students at second level and primary level schools across the country will be given up to date information on sexual education and relationships.

It is believed the new Bill which has received overwhelming support in the Dáil despite Fianna Fáil’s objections, will now see Ireland’s young people being taught about consent, sexuality and gender recognition.
