No end in sight: Luas stoppages look set to continue as no agreement can be reached

The Luas dispute is showing no signs stopping as the Union for the operators have confirmed that scheduled strike action for this Wednesday will go ahead as planned.

That news was also confirmed by the company who runs the service Transdev, who say they are not aware of any moves to resolve the dispute. SIPTU say the Luas drivers will continue to implement a work-to-rule until a decent settlement proposal is tabled.

However say they will not budge on their previous offer, but instead enforce a 10% cut to all operators. The service will see an all-day stoppage this Wednesday, whilst there are further stoppages planned for Friday, May 13th, Friday, May 20th, Thursday, May 26th (four hours from 3pm–7pm) and Friday, May 27th.
