Passengers travelling on a plane from Glasgow to Dublin were left disappointed after the plane had to turn back mid-flight.
The plane was forced to make a u-turn back to Glasgow after a passenger fell ill on the flight. The flight had to turn back while over the Irish Sea before 9am as a mid-air emergency was declared.
A spokesman for the airline explained that one of the passengers became ill on board the Boeing 737-800 aicraft, causing the pilot to return to its starting point.
Ryanair crew contacted emergency services and an ambulance met the ill traveller at the Scottish airport.
Passengers were expected to arrive at 10am this morning in Dublin for the St Patrick’s Day festival, but ended up back at square one earlier than expected.
