No more public sector strikes, if Leo Varadkar gets his way

The current favorite to become the next Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, has said that he’d pass legislation to prevent certain public sectors from staging strike actions.

According to Mr. Varadkar, transport and emergency services would be banned from work stoppages under his rule. Such proposal is already causing disquiet among unions.

This point is also bound to become an issue during the upcoming talks on public sector pay.
