No pressure then: Irish Water to introduce night-time water restrictions in the greater Dublin area this evening

Irish Water have confirmed that night-time restrictions will be imposed in the greater Dublin area from 10pm this evening.

The state utility confirmed that the restrictions which will see a number of areas in Dublin and its surrounding regions with reduced water pressure, will go ahead despite rainfall being forecast for much of this week.

Irish Water say the level 2 restrictions will be implemented for the coming week, but there will be no loss of supply to any homes but rather reduced pressure between the hours of 10pm and 5am.

The utility say the restrictions will apply to the following areas:

City Centre North and South

Smithfield

Phibsboro

Drumcondra

Cabra

Whitehall

Finglas

Beaumont

Marina

Eastwall

Inchicore

Crumlin

Ballyfermot

Kimmage

Walkinstown

Chapelizod

Ranelagh

Rathgar

Ballsbridge

Donnybrook

Sandymont

Ringsend

Clondalkin

Lucan

Tallaght

Templeogue

Ballyboden

Rathfarnham

Dalkey

Killiney

Ballybrack

Shankill

Cabinteely

Bray

Irish Water say they will review the situation at the end of the week and they will decide whether or not further action is required.
