The outgoing Finance Minister Michael Noonan has confirmed that the state’s 25% stake in AIB will be put up for sale later this month.
Officially confirming the sale this evening Mr Noonan said the average price of shares should range between €3.90 and €4.90.
The sale which is due to be launched on the London stock exchange on June 23rd is expected to raise between €2.6billion and €3.3billion for the state.
