The Minister for Finance Michael Noonan has claimed the that Government is not against raising the minimum wage once again if it ensures that work is paying more than social welfare.
Mr Noonan made his comments whilst speaking to RTE recently, he also claimed if the Government were to be re-elected they would ensure that the Universal Social Charge world be scrapped within the next five years because it is a “disincentive” for people to work.
Mr Noonan also claimed the Government would look at raising Family Income Supplement only if the economy continues to grow.
