Noonan: “Ireland on course to see full employment”




The Minister for Finance Michael Noonan has claimed the Irish nation is heading towards full time employment.

Mr Noonan made his after recent figures showed that the unemployment rate has fallen from 16% to just 7% in the past five years.

Speaking today Minister Noonan said: “It’s only five years ago since unemployment was 16% and it’s down to 7.1% in last week’s statistics.”

“So, it’s heading down towards full employment and that’s very important in society.”

Although Mr Noonan did admit that Ireland has a long way to go to achieve it’s goal, saying there are still a high number of people struggling to buy a home and send their children to school.
