Fingal County Council have confirmed this morning that a swimming ban has been implemented at a beach Donabate.
The ban has been placed after a number tests were carried on water at Balcarrick beach.
It is understood the tests found that the water has been contaminated, possibly by animals and birds.
The public have been urged not to swimming in the area until the water quality improves.
